Description

Openforce is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team and play a crucial role in migrating away from our legacy databases, this role will also be involved in growing the Datawarehouse segment of the Technology Team. You will work closely with others in the team including to design and execute the plan for the migration, hands-on work can be expected as part of this role. You will help grow our Datawarehouse, Analytics, and ML side of the Technology Department.

Responsibilities

• Develop an Overall Migration Strategy – Complete an assessment of the existing legacy database, identify areas of data transformations, data cleansing and come up with an optimal approach to migrate data to Snowflake.
• Data Mapping – Analyze our current databases and assist with legacy database fields mapping to Snowflake. Ensure Data quality, integrity and verify there is consistency and completeness for the movement of the data to Snowflake.
• Performance Optimization – Optimize the performance of Snowflake using capabilities like Batch Processing and Query optimization. Collaborate closely with the Engineers to fine tune performance, indexing strategies, and effectively manage real-time data stream and event driven activities.
• Data Security, Compliance and Governance – Own the data governance framework. Ensure that data security and privacy measures are implemented during any migration processes, define and enforce data access control, encryption mechanisms, and general data protection guidelines.
• Documentation and knowledge sharing – As this role evolves, good documentation along with process migrations, data mapping, configurations, flow diagrams, etc. will be needed. Creating, and socializing of this with the rest of the team will be critical.
• Data Preparation and Engineering – Identify relevant data sources to create meaningful and representative features for training ML models for the future.
• Data Exploration, Analysis and Visualization – Using tools like matplotlib and seaborn create informative visualizations to aid data exploration and model interpretation. Employ data and statistical analysis to assess data quality and identify data related patterns.
• Reporting and Analytics – Develop and implement self-servicing reports, analytics that leverage the organization’s data assets including EDP to ensure timely delivery of insights for stakeholders and beyond.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information System or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect, with experience in migrating legacy databases to an EDP.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and database design principles.
• Experience working with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, QlikView etc.
• Experience with modern data technologies and platforms, particularly Snowflake or comparable solutions, EDPs, cloud databases, data lakes or NoSQL databases.
• Previous experience using Kafka or similar technologies for efficient data streaming.
• Worked with ETL processes, data migration, and transformation techniques.
