This position is accountable for the timely and compliant billing of customer orders to federal, state, and commercial insurance plans, and privately when funding is unavailable. This role will also focus on minimizing bad debt and continuous improvement of cash flow. Collaboration with Revenue Cycle Leadership is essential to enhance overall processes, in tandem with the customer support team, to drive consistent process improvement based on current workflow.


Duties

- Ensure critical data is accurately entered into the orders to secure proper reimbursement from various funding sources through the Patient Management Billings System - Bonafide.

- Communicate any issues leading to billing delays to appropriate teams to facilitate improvements and expedite claims processing.

- Interact with clients to resolve billing issues and address any questions regarding claims and invoices.

- Ensure that insurance billings are current and adhere to the timeframes established in departmental policies.

- Confirm understanding and adherence to all billing-related policies and procedures are up to date.

- Review and complete daily/weekly reports to meet billing goals.

- Assist in the development of training materials when needed, to be shared across functions.

- Advise on whether specific receivables should be classified as refunds, adjustments, or write-offs.

- Adhere to a Pledge of Confidentiality.

- Information regarding a patient of this organization shall not be released to any external sources without the signed permission of the patient. Furthermore, information will only be shared internally on a need-to-know basis. All team members must refrain from discussing patient cases outside the office or with individuals not employed by this organization unless they are directly involved with the patient’s case.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma required (Bachelor's degree preferred or six years equivalent experience)

- 5 years of experience in the medical billing field

- Strong understanding of federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare policy

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Preferred:

- Experience in a fast-paced environment

- Familiarity with Bonafide

- Experience with Salesforce


Work Enviroment


- Indoor open office environment or remote

- Minimal noise typical of an office setting

- Extended hours may be necessary

- This organization manufactures and provides life-saving products regulated by the Federal Food and Drug Administration and under contract with Medicare. A drug-free workplace is enforced and testing is a condition of employment post-offer.

- Frequent repetitive motions, including wrist, hand, and/or finger movements such as keyboard and mouse usage

- Frequent stationary positions, often involving prolonged sitting or standing periods

- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required


Travel

Occasional domestic and international travel may be required, less than 5%.

Salary:

Annualized between $72,000 and $82,000, depending on experience and location.
