Homeoffice Software Development Bootcamp Instructor (Part/Time Contract) - Fully Remote

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Software Development Instructor to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of industry-ready software developers. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in Javascript based programming, web (full stack) development and mobile development (React native / Flutter) as well as some teaching/TA/training experience.

This position is open candidates based in North America (preference will be given to those in the Pacific or Mountain time zones in Canada or U.S.) with the opportunity to work 100% remote. The next cohort runs from September to June or October to July with evening classes from 6:30-9pm PT on Tuesdays and Thursdays plus monthly labs on Wednesdays.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions, workshops, and hands-on projects related to Javascript based programming, web (full stack) development and mobile development (React Native / Flutter).
• Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the software development curriculum, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry trends.
• Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their software development projects.
• Offer personalized tutoring and support to students, assisting them in overcoming challenges and optimizing their software development projects.
• Showcase proficiency in full stack software development.
• Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights from the software development industry to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors, industry professionals, and other departments to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities and enhance the overall educational experience.
• Design, administer, and grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
• Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in software design to continuously enhance your own skills and instruction techniques.
  
  
  

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the software development industry, with a proven track record of successful software development projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in software development principles, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, programming design patterns and best practices in full stack development.
• Proficiency in latest full stack development technologies such as JavaScript, Node.js, React, NoSQL, SQL, Cloud deployment (Server management, Docker, scaling etc.), Mobile development tools such as React Native and Flutter including the basic web development technologies such as HTML and CSS.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
• A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
• Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
• A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
• A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
