Position: Intern, Digital Workplace

Reports to: Agile Program Manager, Digital Workplace

Position Term: Full Time Temporary (8-month placement OR 4-month placement. 12-month placement will also be considered.)

Primary Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Workplace Type: Remote (Within Greater Toronto Area)

Please note that an 8-month placement is preferred, however we are open to strong candidates who are only available for 4 or 12 months due to their school requirements.

Job Purpose:

The Digital Workplace intern will work in collaboration with various business units to support

research, analysis, development and testing of new technologies to deliver business value in an

agile manner.

Use cases within Digital Workplace include smart office enablement, work productivity apps,

workflow automation and other technologies that support a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Research how to improve existing technologies within WVC or how to utilize emerging
  • technologies
  • Create and design request forms and automated workflows for internal business
  • platforms (MS Power Platform, ITSM platform, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Provide operational support of existing cloud-based platforms
  • Design, develop and build prototypes that can be tested and launched internally
  • Recommend solutions on how new technologies could create opportunities or solve
  • business challenges within WVC
  • Implementation of IT projects as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • You need to be a university/college student
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • A good team player with analytical skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to handle change.

You must be located within driving distance of our head office in Mississauga as you will

need to pick up a work laptop.

Required Skills:

  • Experience developing web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and Scripting
  • Experience in an object-oriented programming language (C#, .Net etc.)
  • Experience in programming naming conversion standards
  • A genuine interest in learning new technologies
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interest in AI productivity tools

Helpful to Have:

  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with a modern front-end JS framework (Node.js/Vue/Angular)
  • Experience with SQL databases (MSSL, MYSQL, etc.)
  • Experience with .Net Framework or .Net Core
  • Experience or knowledge of Scrum/Agile environments or principles
  • Experience with creating a work-related input form (google form/MS form)

Hourly Rate: $20 (fixed)
