As Attorney IV, you will provide senior-level legal support to the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA), collaborating closely with agency leadership, program offices, and HR-labor relations teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance and regulatory integrity within a federal environment, requiring independent operation and high-level advisory expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering legal analysis, guidance, and documentation support for agency operations
- Conducting legal research and reviewing policies, contracts, and regulations
- Drafting formal legal work products such as memoranda, reports, and legal correspondence
- Supporting compliance and regulatory initiatives across the agency
- Advising senior leadership and internal program offices on legal and compliance matters
- Handling federal labor and employment matters, including grievances, collective bargaining, adverse actions, and EEO/EEOC-related support
- Operating independently with minimal oversight in a non-inherently governmental advisory capacity
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
- Active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction)
- 8+ years of professional legal experience
- Direct experience handling federal labor and employment matters, including employee-labor relations, grievances, collective bargaining, adverse actions, and EEO/EEOC-related support
- Experience drafting formal legal work products, including memoranda, reports, and legal correspondence
- Experience working in the U.S. federal legal, regulatory, and compliance environment, interpreting federal policies and regulations
- Experience advising senior leadership and internal program offices on legal and compliance matters
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a CSOSA-approved security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing federal legal support within a U.S. federal government environment (agency, federal contractor, or similar)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and SharePoint
