General Role Description
Lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of high-impact corporate, client, and industry events that support business objectives, brand positioning, and revenue growth
Role Accountabilities
- Create and implement marketing event strategies to drive attendance and engagement
- Lead and manage the full event lifecycle: concept, planning, logistics, execution, and post-event evaluation
- Manage the annual event calendar aligned to business and marketing goals
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, run-of-show documents, and prepare post-show reports for the BU and marketing leadership
- Align marketing messaging, branding, and tactics with marketing management and secure approvals
- Prepare and update trade show budgets, reporting to management as necessary
- Define, measure and analyze event KPIs in collaboration with BU and other marketing team members
- Manage booth fabricators/display companies, and other external providers to meet all agreed deliverables in line with agreed designs
- Build strong relationships with trade show organizers to secure speaker programming in collaboration with internal subject matter experts and marketing management
- Secure and maintain lead retrieval during shows
- Monitor schedule, shipping, import/export compliance, and logistics for all marketing and trade show-related goods and services; resolve or escalate issues, as necessary
- Maintain booth schedule for BU use
- Coordinate with the Creative Manager to ensure sufficient inventory of approved promotional items for use at events
- Ensure trade show inventory of displays, banners, and graphics are accounted for at all times
- Ensure the full and timely registration of attendees who require assistance
- Create and distribute an event handbook, providing a single source of information for each major event to all Company attendees
- Plan and execute internal employee events as requested

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications, event management, or related field, or equivalent via education and/or experience
- 5 years' experience in marketing communications or marketing events role
- Demonstrated experience managing successful events and campaigns
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiation
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Availability to travel domestically, up to approximately 25%, and internationally, up to approximately 15%, sometimes on short notice
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master’s in marketing
- 5 years' marketing experience in the power electronics or other capital equipment industries in any combination of the metals, material handling, renewable energy systems, paper, or related general industries
- Proficiency in current design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Demonstrated experience with a foreign-owned business, preferably Japanese
- Demonstrated experience in a dynamic, high-growth, global engineering services organization or industry served by the Company
