Description
Cedars provides day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. The organization first opened its doors in 1919, and for more than a century our award winning person-centered programs and services have connected individuals with the best expression of themselves. Currently, Cedars supports nearly 200 adults across Marin County who are working artist, weavers, jewelry-makers, gardeners, animal caretakers, chefs, neighbors, community volunteers, and much more!
We are looking for someone to join our dynamic finance department for a role whose primary focus will be management and maintenance of Cedars accounts receivable. Primary duties include recording program sales, client invoicing, tracking payments, resolving discrepancies, timely collection of payments and reconciling bank accounts.
This position is for five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM. The rate of pay is $32/hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree Accounting, Finance or related field a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and thorough understanding of Excel.
- Understanding of Cyma Systems a plus.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
- Problem solving and follow-through skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, families, government agencies and internal departments.
- Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion, and exercise good judgement in handling and disseminating information.
- Ability to work with compassion, patience and understanding in an environment shared with adults with developmental disabilities.
- The ability to pass a pre-hire screening including background check with the FBI and DOJ, and a pre-employment physical, including TB test.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both).
- An upbeat, can-do attitude!
