Description
Rasor Law Firm – Seeking a Litigation Attorney Who Builds Winning Trial Cases From the Ground Up
Rasor Law Firm, located in downtown Royal Oak, is a respected Michigan litigation boutique known for taking serious cases through verdict — and winning.
We are seeking an experienced attorney who finds satisfaction not in the spotlight, but in the work that wins trials: pre-suit development, discovery execution, legal writing, research, and meticulous trial preparation.
This is a rare long-term opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys being the architect behind strong courtroom outcomes — the attorney who prepares the record, sharpens the arguments, and ensures every case is positioned for maximum impact when trial arrives.
The Role: High-Level Litigation Support & Trial Preparation
This position is ideal for a seasoned litigator who thrives in the details and understands that great trial results are built long before opening statements.
You will play a central role in preparing complex cases from inception through trial, working closely with senior trial counsel in a collaborative, strategy-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing cases in the pre-suit stage, including managing the gathering of, analyzing, and organizing critical evidence such as medical records, insurance materials, employment files, and other documentation.
- Pre-Suit Negotiations and Resolution of matters with insurance companies prior to suit.
- Drafting and responding to discovery, managing document production, and driving the factual development needed to win at trial.
- Coordinating expert and lay witnesses, ensuring testimony and supporting materials are trial-ready and admissible.
- Arranging and preparing with lead counsel for attendance at depositions, with follow-up discovery and case refinement based on testimony.
- Writing substantive litigation filings, including motions, responses, facilitation summaries, and appellate briefs.
- Building complete pre-trial packages — exhibit lists, witness lists, motions in limine, trial binders, and demonstratives.
- Providing in-court trial support to lead counsel through real-time exhibit handling, logistics, and case management.
- Contributing to the firm’s active appellate practice through post-trial motions and appeals.
- Collaborating with senior attorneys to develop case strategy and execution from the ground up.
Why Rasor Law?
- We are a true trial firm — we prepare every case with the expectation that it will be tried.
- This is a role for lawyers who value precision, preparation, and strategic execution.
- Our firm is established, influential, and driven by results and integrity.
- Our appellate practice is thriving, offering exposure to high-level legal advocacy.
- You will work alongside some of Michigan’s sharpest litigators and become an essential part of the trial team.
Don’t Miss This Opportunity
If you’re simply looking for another litigation job, there are many out there.
But if you’re looking for a long-term career opportunity where your writing, discovery, skill, preparation, and behind-the-scenes trial work directly shape courtroom wins — this is the role.
Requirements
Who You Are:
- A Michigan-licensed attorney with meaningful litigation experience and a commitment to excellence in case development and trial preparation.
- A strong legal writer and researcher who enjoys digging into complex issues, sharpening arguments, and building a record that wins.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and moving pieces in high-stakes litigation.
- Comfortable working behind the scenes to drive discovery, prepare motions, coordinate evidence, and ensure every case is trial-ready.
- Technologically proficient and efficient, with confidence using Clio, Westlaw, Microsoft Office, and modern AI-assisted legal tools.
- Strategic, proactive, and dependable — someone who anticipates what the trial team will need next and takes initiative without constant direction.
- Professional, steady, and capable of working with demanding clients, experienced opposing counsel, and fast-moving litigation environments.
- Motivated by responsibility, mentorship, and the opportunity to become an indispensable part of a respected trial and appellate practice.
- A lawyer with a proven ability to produce high-quality work product — including discovery, motion practice, case evaluation, and appellate-level briefing.
- Experience in areas such as automobile negligence and PIP, employment discrimination, personal injury, medical malpractice, or premises liability is a strong plus.
