Role Overview
We are looking for Additive Manufacturing Technicians to be part of a skilled team producing high-quality components using DED-arc additive manufacturing technology. These roles involve operating in a dynamic production environment, following established procedures, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The positions will transition to a rotating shift schedule to support 24/7 operations once initial onboarding and training is completed.
Key Responsibilities
· Machine Setup & Maintenance: Prepare and calibrate machines for builds, perform routine maintenance, and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize scrap.
· Process Monitoring: Operate and monitor machine performance during production, ensuring all parameters meet part specifications.
· Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues during the printing process, escalating complex problems to the AM Supervisor.
· Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections to verify surface finish and dimensional accuracy, ensuring compliance with quality standards before moving parts to the next stage.
· Documentation & Reporting: Record deviations, non-conformities, and process anomalies accurately, and communicate potential delays early to shift leads.
· Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance teams and equipment suppliers for complex repairs and ensure minimal downtime.
· Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, strictly following company safety policies and procedures.
· Teamwork & Continuous Improvement: Support team collaboration across shifts and actively contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions to supervisors and engineers.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
· Associates degree or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in manufacturing is a plus.
· At least 3 years of relevant experience in engineering, with a focus on production and manufacturing.
· Knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies (e.g., DED-arc/laser) and post-processing techniques such as machining and NDT.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
· Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues independently.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
· Certification in additive manufacturing technologies or welding processes.
· Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software for production planning and inventory management.
· Knowledge of quality control principles and practices in manufacturing.
· Prior experience in additive manufacturing or similar production environments.
· Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASME, ISO, DNV).

Bonus – Performance related bonus scheme
Pension - 9% employer contribution with an optional employee contribution
Working Hours – Initially 40 hours per week during training however the role will move onto a 24/7 shift pattern once training is completed.
