Description
The Project Engineer will participate in and manage engineering and technical issues for both the execution of new projects as well as deployed operating projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Overseeing various aspects of the design, installation, and commissioning of assigned project. As well as taking lead on identifying and resolving deployed asset issues.
- Tracks progress, communicates deadlines, and alerts key stakeholders of potential delays.
- Identifying key project requirements and evaluating design options provided by both internal and external stakeholders to meet these requirements.
- Advising Project Managers in the technical planning and scheduling and identification of needed resources.
- Facilitating and contributing to the development of project plans and designs.
- Recommending and/or analyzing materials, equipment, and practices.
- Collaborating with customers, vendors, EPC, Operations, and subcontractor technical teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise over the course of the project.
- Participating in project, service, and departmental meetings to keep key stakeholders updated on technical status.
- Ensuring compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.
- Collaborating with the broader operations department (project execution, service, controls software development, diagnostics and operations, etc.) to identify and troubleshoot technical issues
- Collaborate with Project Engineering team to share knowledge and solutions.
- Willingness to frequent travel to project sites, sometimes on short notice, to provide service and support. (Travel up to 25%)
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline required.
- At least five years of experience in engineering, systems design, or other related fields, with at least two years in a position having technical leadership responsibilities.
- Extra consideration will be given to candidates:
- Possessing experience commissioning and troubleshooting electrical equipment and controls (Especially Power Projects)
- Those having practical experience evaluating equipment and installations for compliance with NFPA70 and other codes and standards
- Those with Utility Interconnect or Protection experience
- Those with Power Electronics experience
- Those with Practical field or construction management experience
