Role scope
We are looking for an experienced PIPING, Senior Designer to be based in Mumbai/Vadodara office, who will have around 15+ years and above relevant Designing experience, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations. You should be effective with verbal and written communication skills.
Details / responsibilities
In this role, you will undertake the following duties:
- Proficiency in developing optimum details & checking of drawings, equipment layout, Piping layout, Pipe support, Isometrics etc.
- Proven record of managing design team.
- Knowledge of global design standards & understanding of Statutory Codes & Standards
- Present 3D model review internally & to client with technical back up, attend various design reviews.
- Site visits to gather various inputs and support the design. Site support for fabrication and construction.
- Working as per the quality and safety requirement standards
- Adopting a flexible and open approach towards the needs of projects.
- Leading the design team and assisting the LD in monitoring the design developments & updates.
- Supporting the LD in change management.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development
Qualification/ Certification:
Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering OR ITI in Mechanical Drafting.
Skills Requirement:
- Leading and supervising a team of Designers.
- Performing piping study in 2D/3D environment based on the equipment layouts & PID’s.
- Performing design reviews along with lead designer.
- Inter discipline coordination, vendor drawing reviews and comments. Maintaining design change log and assisting LE/LD to raise change management.
- Conduct site visits, attend client meetings to review the design development periodically.
- Trouble shooting and guiding junior designers.
- Work as an Area lead whenever required.
- Flexibility in adapting any 3D design software.
- Digitisation initiatives to support the optimal design and save efforts.
Software Tools:
- AutoCAD and Micro station,
- Navis Manage, SPR.
- SP3D, PDS, PDMS, E3D, Auto PLANT, CADWORX, PLANT 3D
Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication:
- English- Effective verbal and written communication skill
- Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
- Presentation skills, driving review and design sessions independently internally as well with client.
Proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
