Spire Methley are looking for an experienced MSK Sonographer to join the Bank Imaging Team, this will suit a candidate who is looking for a more work/life balance.

Spire Methley Park Hospital situated in Methley in South Leeds, has recently completed a 7.6 million refurbishment, which included a new theatre equipped with cutting-edge technology enabling us to carry out complex surgery across a variety of clinical specialties. Duties and responsibilities

  • You will be an integral part of our Radiology team, working closely with patients, radiologists, physiotherapists, orthopaedic consultants and colleagues across all departments.
  • You will be capable of, and committed to, delivering high-quality MSK ultrasound imaging, ensuring accurate scanning techniques and detailed reporting.
  • You will independently assess clinical referrals and justify ultrasound examinations in line with clinical indications and locally agreed protocols.
  • You will undertake a broad range of MSK examinations, including (but not limited to):
  • Shoulder
  • Elbow
  • Wrist/hand
  • Hip
  • Knee
  • Ankle/foot
  • Soft-tissue lumps and swellings
  • Tendon, ligament and muscle assessments
  • You will be part of a supportive team who take pride in delivering excellent care.
  • You will participate in the local Quality Assurance regime for ultrasound, contribute to audit, and help maintain consistently high imaging standards.
  • You will undertake relevant system tasks to ensure effective utilisation of ultrasound appointments and resources.
  • You will contribute to a caring, patient-centred environment, supporting anxious or complex patients with professionalism, empathy and excellent communication.
  • Provide cover and support for other colleagues

Who we're looking for

  • A PGCert/PGDip in Medical Ultrasound (or equivalent) with a strong focus on MSK ultrasound.
  • Current registration with HCPC, NMC or SoR/CASE-recognised qualification allowing independent MSK ultrasound practice.
  • Demonstrable experience of independently performing and reporting MSK ultrasound examinations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and tailor interactions to individual patient needs.
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with modern ultrasound systems and PACS/RIS workflows.
  • A caring, professional nature with the ability to deliver individualised, high-quality care.
  • A positive and flexible attitude, with willingness to support a rota that may include evenings or weekends.
  • Ideally 1+ years post-qualification MSK ultrasound experience in a clinical setting.
