Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Hydraulic Test Technician to join our Operations team, where you’ll play a vital role in testing and validating precision-engineered hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical assemblies. This role will be based at our Staverton site.

The Role
As a Hydraulic Test Technician, you’ll be responsible for the testing, fault finding, and repair of hydraulic and mechanical components to the highest aviation standards. Working from detailed written work instructions and specifications, you’ll use specialised test facilities to perform tests, record results, and ensure all work is fully traceable and compliant with company and customer requirements.
You’ll play an active part in engineering and quality investigations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure all documentation and test records are accurately maintained. Maintaining a safe, organised workspace and adhering to strict health and safety requirements will also be a key part of your day-to-day work.
About You

You’ll bring proven experience working with hydraulic or mechanical components, ideally within an aerospace or aviation environment, and a strong ability to follow detailed technical instructions and drawings. Experience testing hydraulic units and working to close tolerances will be highly advantageous, and any electrical experience would be a plus.
You’ll need excellent attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. An apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience is desirable, along with confidence using computer-based systems.
