Job Title: Supervisor, Warehouse

What we are looking for:
The Supervisor, Warehouse is responsible for continuously improving the warehouse and crating operations to ensure attainment of company goals. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, oversee the safe receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of goods. Supervises members of the warehouse and crating teams, train, work allocation and problem resolution. Primary contact and responsibility for all Warehouse and Crating Dept. Functions.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Supervises, trains, and schedules receiving staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Make sure productivity targets are met.
- Oversee the daily receiving process, ensuring timely and accurate unloading, inspection, and processing of incoming goods.
- Monitors and maintains inventory levels, conduct audits, and resolves discrepancies to ensure proper storage and organization.
- Maintains accurate records of all transactions, including bills of lading, packing slips, and other shipping documents.
- Develop procedures for and supervise receiving/auditing function to ensure product is received and put away efficiently.
- Reduces waste in creating materials and excess inventory of material.
- Liaises with logistics providers, carriers, and internal departments (like production and customer service) to schedule deliveries and resolve shipping issues.
- Ensures all receiving activities comply with company standards and safety regulations, and that a safe work environment is maintained.
- Identifies and implements strategies to optimize receiving and logistics processes for greater efficiency.
- Manage daily support of production needs such as expediting material, setting priorities and addressing issues.
- Guarantees proper transactions are carried out in a timely manner.
- Conducts inventory management and utilization.
- Implements best practices and minimize material and labor.
- Creates receiving paperwork (Purchase Orders, Material Transfers, etc.)
- Develops a stable, high-performing team. Cross train and coach personnel through training and performance evaluation.
- Ensures employee training and certifications are current (incl. forklift and first aid.)
- Performs special projects and assignments as required to meet business goals on time and within budget.
What are the basic qualifications?
- Requires at least a High School Diploma, prefer a bachelor’s degree in engineering business administration or supply chain or an equivalent combination of education, training or relevant experience required.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience in warehouse / logistics management.
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and other departments.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and experience with relevant warehouse or inventory software.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- ERP (AS400 preferred), MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, and the potential need for forklift certification.
- APICS or ISM Certification preferred
- Organizational and time management skills required.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Team oriented individuals who are flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to plan and organize and to set priorities to meet deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction
- Effective problem-solving skills and conflict resolution
- Ability to inquire, assess, analyze and make key decisions
To be a great fit for the role:
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of warehouse, inventory, crating and manufacturing processes and knowledge of MRP is required along with a demonstrated understanding of warehousing best practices, and knowledge of material control.
- Ability to lead people to achieve outstanding results
- Ability to effectively manage time
- This position must demonstrate strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, and technical skills along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management within and outside the company.
