Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Security Shift Assistant Manager at Wynn Resorts is to ensure the overall safety and security of employees, guests, and property while upholding the Forbes Five-star standards and the Wynn Resort Core Values and Behaviors. The Security Shift Assistant Manager requires a positive attitude, strong leadership abilities, and the capacity to provide guidance, support and oversight to the security officers, shift counterparts and specialty security teams.  The Security Shift Assistant Manager is accountable for the overall work performance of the security staff, administrative duties, and any additional responsibilities assigned by senior security management. In the absence of the Security Shift Manager, the Security Shift Assistant Manager assumes their duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties

The Security Shift Assistant Manager essential functions are to ensure all interactions between guests and employees adhere to the Forbes Five-star standards. Security Shift Assistant Manager will maintain the safety, liability, and integrity of the Wynn and Encore Las Vegas.  This role is expected to monitor all shift employees, understand and enforce all company and department policies and procedures, and ensuring proper shift staffing. All guest and employee inquiries and concerns will be handled with the utmost professionalism all while providing satisfactory solutions. The Security Shift Assistant Manager will maintain comprehensive shift reports, complete delegated tasks, and deliver exceptional customer service.

 

  • Responsible for payroll, compensation, vacation and maintenance of applicable licenses and work cards.
  • Responsible for the daily briefing of security officers and staff assigned to the shift or special event.
  • Respond to security related calls for service, evaluate and resolve the situation.
  • Work in conjunction with local law enforcement to resolve issues of criminal nature.
  • Responsible for all logs and reports are correct before end of shift.
  • Fill in for Security Special Events Manager as necessary.
  • Investigate and document allegations of misconduct and/or policy violations.
  • Coach, mentor, counsel or issue progressive discipline when appropriate.
  • Must be able to effectively assist with internal and external guest with high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Responsible for addressing guest issues in a timely manner and coordinating with Hotel Management as necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of resort appearance by continuously walking the floors, inspecting public areas and back of house areas. Identify and correct conditions which may impact patron or employee experience.
  • Responsible for monitoring officers and ensuring they always maintain Wynn Resort Core Values and Behaviors, and the Forbes Five-star standards of service to guests and employees.
  • Work closely with Hotel Management, Guest Claims, Crisis Management, Safety and Engineering to ensure the overall safety and security of our patrons and employees. 
  • Understands and is well-versed in company and department policies and procedures, applicable gaming violations; as well as gaming, city, state and federal laws.
  • Maintain full knowledge of overall Wynn and Encore facilities, outlets, and services.
  • Performs administrative daily duties, completes designated daily reports in a timely and complete manner, create and issue progressive disciple and counseling notices
  • Maintains open communication with senior management to include employee concerns, shift incidents and other pertinent information.
  • Always sets outstanding example for all security officers by maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Patrol the property to observe persons and activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and Wynn policies.
  • Respond to calls for service, evaluate, attempt to resolve and communicate status to leadership.
  • Maintain command and control of all safety and security scenes.
  • Ensure appropriate officer response for incident and scene management. 
  • Monitor and ensure officers are fulfilling their essential functions and post orders.
  • Actively communicates company updates, policy changes, hotel occupancy, special events, and messages from senior management to all team members in the department.
  • Solution oriented, avoids conflict and gossip, stays on task and promote teamwork.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skill and knowledge of assigned staff.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback on performance of staff to support the professional growth of staff.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Senior Security Management, as well as, Property Executives.
  • Attend required training classes, meetings and company functions.
  • Instill teamwork, mentor others and encourage success at every opportunity.
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment.
  • May be assigned other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Previous hospitality experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required, and five or more years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal & written. Must be able to communicate with guests, management, and other employees to their understanding. Second language preferred, but not required.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.  Ability to deal with concerns involving guest, employees, and operational issues, all while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Strong ability to learn multiple computer systems and understanding of Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be able to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must have problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Must be able to work alone or in a team
  • Must maintain confidentiality of patron information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Perform essential job functions with attention to detail.
  • Be able to stand, sit, kneel, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License, CPR and Alcohol Awareness certification are required and must be obtained before entering this position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
