THE POSITION…
As an Electrical Support Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support in the design and development of new avionics and related products. You will layout printed circuit boards from schematics. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to complete design documentation/release and manage/maintain library for individual components.
THIS POSITION MAY BE FOR YOU IF…
- You have a technical degree in electronics or electrical related background.
- You have a minimum 5 years relevant design/layout experience.
- You have PCB layout software experience (PADS preferred).
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office.
- You have strong attention to detail.
- You are organized, focused and results oriented.
- You are a problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
- You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
WE WOULD REALLY LIKE IT IF… (but it’s not a deal breaker)
- You have a working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- You have experience with Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
- You have both high speed and high power PCB layout experience.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT…
- Design layout of printed circuit board files from electrical schematic information, including:
- Coordination of mechanical and electrical requirements to meet product definition
- Library creation and maintenance of components and associated symbology
- Complete documentation of the design in the required formats
- Complete engineering activities related to the procurement, build, and troubleshooting of circuit board designs and their interfaces
- Support production facilities in the manufacture and testing of products
- Complete component package evaluation and qualification including research, selection, testing, and documentation
- Develop PCB Layout standards, practices, and guidelines in accordance with internal requirements, industry standards, and external manufacturability specifications
- Work with board creation, manufacturing assembly, and component suppliers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed
- Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) of new and existing designs
- Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM)
