Job Title: Print Production Level 2
Location: Albany, NY
Job Type: Hourly Consultant, potential to convert to perm after 12 months
Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm M-F
Pay: $21/hr
Essential Functions:
Serve as the main point of contact to receive, review, and electronically log customer print jobs.
Operate digital production printers, high-volume copiers, and wide-format printers.
Operate standard finishing equipment including paper cutters, inserters, laminators, and hole punchers.
Sort, scan, and convert hardcopy materials for printed or digital output; training on specific applications will be provided as needed.
Perform quality inspections before, during, and after production runs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Wrap, pack, label, and ship finished products.
Process basic forms, update information using a PC, and maintain reporting logs for billing.
Maintain inventory of supplies and submit meter reads as required.
Troubleshoot and resolve production, delivery, and output issues.
Collect data and respond to print/copy equipment issues by contacting service personnel using designated PC applications.
Estimate, schedule, track, and store production jobs, including file backup for future reuse.
Inspect and prepare files for production, ensuring proper fonts, image resolution, and registration.
Perform operator-level maintenance on equipment.
Skills:
Functional PC knowledge, including mouse/keyboard operation and basic navigation.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), web browsers, and intranet tools.
Ability to move data between Word and Excel and work with network-connected devices (drives, printers, files).
Ability to send/receive emails, save documents, perform data entry, and send documents to preconfigured printers.
Strong professionalism, business maturity, and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of printer configuration, including setting default parameters, preferred for first-responder support.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a print shop/copy center using digital production equipment in a customer service environment.
Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required: Post-high-school technology training or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
