JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Campus Activities, Service and Leadership is the main point of contact for Fraternity and Sorority programs and oversees a variety of programs and functions within the area including, but not limited to leadership development, civic engagement, social, educational and cultural programming.  They advise multiple student organizations including Greek Senate and Councils, Student Government Association, and the Student Activities Programming Board.   They have direct responsibilities with new student orientation programs and university wide events such as Homecoming / Family Day, Welcome Day and Commencement.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the primary advisor to Greek Senate and its Councils, ensuring that all fraternities and sororities are compliant with required insurances, hazing prevention training, new member programs, Greek Pillars, etc. 
  • Meet regularly with Greek Senate and organization executive board members to assist with organization compliance and management, programming, and civic engagement.
  • Serves as an advisor to a variety of student organizations including the Student Activities Programming Board (SAPB), Student Government Association (SGA) and its committees, as well as supporting many other student organizations.
  • Advises and supports the selection, training and operation of executive board members and committees. 
  • Assesses student organization needs and develops strategies collaboratively with CASL staff to assist student leaders in addressing recognized needs such as membership recruitment, engagement, program planning, etc. 
  • Advises student organizations and officers, including program planning and implementation, fundraising, operations and assessment as needed.
  • Assists with organizations event planning and approval of events.
  • Designs, implements and assesses a variety of student leadership and educational programs for the WP LEADS Digital Badge programs, including Greek STARS, Leaders in Action, Civic Engagement, Social Justice Leadership, etc.
  • Create, implement, promote, track and assess on and off campus civic engagement and service-learning initiatives for the Greek Life and university community.  
  • Identifies and works with student organizations and community partners to create service-learning opportunities for students, including Pioneer Service Ventures, MLK Jr. Day of Service, etc. 
  • Tracks and assesses civic engagement participation for WP Leads Digital Badges.
  • Coordinates and collaborate with other departments in the planning and implementation of special programs including, but not limited to Homecoming / Family Day, Welcome Weeks, Cultural Celebrations, Greek Week, Spring Fest Week, De-Stress Fest Week, etc.
  • Works with CASL staff to develop new student Orientation programs, including management of designated components, presentations, event organization and coverage, etc. 
  • Conducts Orientation Leader selection, training and supervision.
  • Provides coverage at evening and weekends events as needed.
  • Represents the Office of Campus Activities, Service and Leadership on appropriate committees and events as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.

         

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree required in student personnel services, higher education or field related to the position.
  • Two (2) years’ postgraduate / professional experience with event programming, which includes design and implementation of student leadership, civic engagement, educational and social programs at a college or university, required. Experience working directly with student organizations preferred.   
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks on time.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications; Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, event management systems and social media platforms preferred.

Starting Salary - AFT Range 24 - $73,899.90 - $92,367.13
