As the Director, Civil/Structural Engineering, you’ll be the driving force behind operational success, business development, and unparalleled client service—all while building lasting relationships with top-tier insurance, legal, and corporate clients.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Business Development & Market Growth 

  • Drive revenue growth within the territory through proactive networking, sales calls, and relationship management. 

  • Develop and execute a territory business plan aligned with practice-wide objectives. 

  • Identify new service opportunities and strategic partnerships within the local market. 

Operational & Technical Oversight 

  • Oversee local project assignments, scheduling, and case progress to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. 

  • Support engineers in conducting forensic investigations and developing reports. 

  • Maintain familiarity with technical standards, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to cases in the territory. 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor local engineers and consultants, promoting professional growth and technical excellence. 

  • Foster a collaborative culture that aligns with company values and service standards. 

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to optimize team performance. 

Client Relationship Management 

  • Serve as primary contact for key clients in the territory, ensuring satisfaction and repeat engagements. 

  • Resolve escalated client concerns and ensure alignment between client needs and project execution. 

  • Represent the territory and the company at industry conferences, association meetings, and networking events. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience: 

  •  Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in forensic investigations or consulting. 

  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management. 

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills. 

  • Ability to travel within territory as needed (estimated 25–40%). 

 

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience: 

  •  Multi-state PE licensure. 
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience. 

  • Experience delivering expert witness testimony. 

  • Established local network in insurance, legal, or construction industries. 

 

Education: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) 
The pay range for this position is $175K to 205K annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
