The Head of Sales and BD – West Coast (“Head of Sales”) will work alongside our COO and VP of Sales and Business Development to implement a strategy to grow our existing client base in our established market as well as new verticals. The Head of Sales will need to clearly articulate the Aduro service and product offering, while working with prospective clients to understand their needs. Ideal candidates have experience in selling software, have a passion for relationship building and thrive on finding new solutions and solving challenging problems. As a member of the Aduro Advisors team, this individual must be able to grow positive, collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners.
Here is the type of work you will do:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of our technology platform and an associated sales strategy specific to this offering
- Obtain a deep understanding of:
- The fund administration competitive landscape and competitor service & technology offering
- Aduro’s service offering including scope of services across all lines of service, differentiators, and FundPanel features and functionality.
- Aduro’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and existing client base including client contacts, investment focus, and other pertinent information to develop a sense for prospective client ‘fit’
- Run the sales process from end to end including:
- Accurate entry of key prospect information Salesforce as well as maintenance of Salesforce as prospects move through the sales pipeline
- Lead prospective client calls providing an overview of our service and product offering, assess prospective clients needs and pain points, and explain how Aduro can be the solution
- Producing client proposals including pricing, negotiations, and final close of sale looping in the VP of Sales and Business Development and COO as necessary
- Develop relationships with strategic partners and work to develop partnership offerings to complement or amplify Aduro’s offering
- Partner with Marketing team to optimize and action inbound leads with focus on improving conversion and shortening sales cycle
- Identify industry and obtain access to industry events; attend industry events as an Aduro representative
The base salary for the Head of Sales role will range from $140,000 - $165,000. Compensation package will include commission as well as participation in Aduro’s equity plan. Salary is determined based on current market data and candidate experience level.
Candidates must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to attend in-person events on a ~ weekly-basis.

Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience within a business development or client relationship-focused role
- Prior experience selling software to the venture capital and private equity community
- Significant knowledge of the venture capital industry and the service offering of a fund admin
- Prior experience in managing relationships with high profile partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills through a variety of mediums
- Comfortable with software systems including Salesforce, Gsuite, Microsoft Office, Box, Slack
