We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Financial Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for managing insurance-related activities and non-insurance-related accounting, overseeing various administrative functions, supporting accounts payables, treasury functions, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Excel and SAP, along with solid accounting experience, preferably in insurance. You should be working towards a CPA designation, possess excellent time management and communication skills, and have the ability to analyze and improve processes while maintaining internal controls. Additionally, you will work effectively within both local teams and global teams, utilizing lean principles to drive efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis of current financial reporting processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize advanced data analytics tools to reassess and optimize the technical closing and financial reporting processes.
- Perform closing activities for both Group and Local ledgers to ensure timely handover to the Group and OSFI fillings.
- Validate insurance accounts for both Group and Local ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare quarterly expense landing and analyze budget to actual variances. Oversee systems supporting expense management and back up accounts payable functions.
- Manage cash activities, including weekly cash flow forecasts and analytics, as well as technical cash flow summaries.
- Assist with income tax & HST provisions, working with external consultant to complete tax returns · Premium tax, sales tax filings and tax reconciliations and payments.
- Collaboration and Reconciliations: Ability to collaborate with treasury and capital teams and conduct key account reconciliations.
- Process Improvement and Expense Management: Skills in implementing key controls, enhancing processes for efficiency, and managing expenses and payments.
- Adaptability and Technical Skills: Demonstrated agility in fast-learning environments, proficiency in SAP (advantageous), and experience with technology such as PowerBI or advanced Excel tools.
- Perform finance tasks with a focus on innovation, continuously seeking and implementing new methods that enhance efficiency and benefit both the team and the company
Qualifications
Proficient in working with complex financial models and templates. Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, PowerBI, Power Query, or similar.
3+ years of experience; completed or working towards CPA or equivalent combination of education & experience, including strong computer skills, preferred
Excellent communication skills, ability to analyze and improve processes while maintaining Internal controls.
Ability to work effectively within small local teams and large global teams, with an understanding of lean principles.
In-depth familiarity with technology tools for automation (e.g., RPA, AI, machine learning).
