In a highly collaborative and mission-focused environment, the Advance Planning candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Columbia Class Final Assembly and Test Artemis networks. In this role, the candidate will develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to reflect project scope, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables. The candidate will also identify and analyze critical and controlling paths, highlighting potential schedule risks and providing mitigation/recovery recommendations to stakeholders. The Advance Planning candidate will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to track construction progress, identify variances, and ensure alignment with program goals. The Advance Planning candidate’s work ensures that construction activities remain on track, risks are identified early, and project status is communicated effectively.
The Advance Planner a is key member of the project execution team and is vital to ensuring the timely and successful delivery of each Columbia Class submarine.
This is an on-site position located in Groton, CT.
Occasional day trips to the Quonset Point Facility may be required.
Qualifications:Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A combination of 3+ years experience at Electric Boat in Planning, Ships Management, Engineering, Design, Design Build Sustain, or Operations (including STO and NTO) OR 4+ years of Navy submarine experience OR 4+ years Project Management experience
Preferred:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge and experience with the Columbia/Virginia Class Integrated Master Schedule and Earned Value Management System
- Working knowledge of ARTEMIS and Teamcenter
- Experience navigating Electronic Desktop, including work order progressing, UNSAT adjudication and closeout
- Deckplate experience working with Operations, Test, Ship Management, or Production Planning
- Experience with Columbia or Ohio Class missile compartments and launch tubes
- Experience with Non-Nuclear test sequencing, System and Space OPCON process
Skills:
- Exceptional public speaking, with an ability to clearly communicate schedule risk to varying levels of leadership
- Excellent analytical, and problem solving skills
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency (including MS Project)
- Knowledge of submarines, including general knowledge of submarine systems (purpose and operations)
- Ability to read and interpret shipyard drawings and Engineering Reports / Change Reports
- Must be able to maneuver and climb aboard modules in construction
