The NFL Players Association is looking for an energetic and resourceful Operations and Logistics Manager to join our team! This position will oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving logistics, including international freight—providing efficient handling and warehousing. The role executes logistics for large-scale in-person events, ensuring seamless coordination of shipping, receiving, vendor management, fulfillment, inventory, and warehousing.
The ideal Operations and Logistics Manager candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience at the manager level facility operations and events logistics. Other qualifications include project planning and execution, problem solving, the ability to develop and enforce SOPs, vendor management and cost-optimization skills. To be successful in this role, individuals should have strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supervise and develop team of one full-time staff member as well as temporary staff, and interns, including but not limited to hiring, scheduling, and managing onsite labor teams for event setup and breakdown.
- Plan and manage logistics for large scale, in-person events, including shipping, receiving, vendor coordination, fulfillment, inventory, and warehousing to ensure seamless event execution.
- Coordinate with partners and vendors to fulfill event-specific needs; including obtaining Certificates of Insurance
- Manage inbound and outbound daily mail, shipping, and receiving logistics including international freight and parcel shipments to ensure proper handling and warehousing.
- Oversee fulfillment and procurement, ensuring efficient business procedures, material management, and resource allocation (e.g., NFLPA/PI off-site storage or warehouse).
- Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, and service providers to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory management, including tracking, auditing, budgeting, and reporting (e.g., excess licensed samples for donation).
- Provide regular analysis of operational data and costs to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance business processes.
- Oversee building projects, including renovations, and maintenance, in coordination with finance and engineering teams.
- Approximately 15% travel required.
