he Customer Service Specialist plays a key role in providing exceptional service to patients, families, and healthcare providers by facilitating smooth and accurate patient admissions and assisting with insurance verification and processing. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with strong communication and organizational skills.
Your Role as a Customer Service Specialist:
· Provide general office support and handle a variety of clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.
· Answer and screen incoming calls, directing callers to the appropriate associate or voicemail.
· Greeting and assisting company guests and visitors.
· Receive, sort, and forward incoming mail and publications.
· Sign for and distribute package deliveries.
· Order, receive, stock, and distribute office supplies as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Accurately enter patient data into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Communicate referral /insurance eligibility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to patient inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Support administrative functions such as scheduling, data entry, and file management.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in patient admissions, registration, or insurance verification preferred.
- Entry-level applicants with strong customer service backgrounds will be considered.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Basic knowledge of health insurance terminology and processes a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and computer navigation.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
