Engineer I, Verification

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your responsibilities

The Verification Engineer functions in the Labs, Approvals, and Verification Engineering Department by providing a technical resource for test plans, procedures, and equipment development used to validate designs.

 

·        Working closely with the laboratory for testing of appliances, parts and assemblies for function and performance

·        Collaborate with project team to generate test plans.

·        Define and write test procedures.

·        Responsible for maintaining labs in workable conditions, ordering supplies, etc.

·        Train others in testing principles and methods and maintaining the integrity of tests.

·        Contribute/Assist to the design and building of test fixtures and special purpose equipment.

·        Define and test solutions to problems found during testing.

·        Communicate with outside sources of information and material.

·        Participate in new product/parts/vendor approval.

·        Verify effectiveness of implemented solution.

·        Presenting and discussion of test results to find solutions to problems

·        Documentation, analysis and interpretation of test results and tasks

·        Project management as far as task related (deadlines, driving tasks, managing assigned budgets/timelines)

·        Ability to handle multiple projects with different scopes and requirements at the same time.

·        Develop and maintain timeline of projects and project-related tasks in accordance with BSH PDP (Product Development Process) and deadlines

·        Understanding of critical parts and processes, generation and analysis of tolerance studies including Gage R&R.

·        Performs work under normal supervision

·        Handles basic to moderately complex tissues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

·        Perform all other duties as assigned.

Your profile

·       Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) – Required

·       0-2 Years of Experience (Product Development) – Required

·       3-5 Years of Experience (Product Development) – Preferred

·       Basic knowledge of ‘requirements engineering’ processes and methodologies

·       Excellent knowledge of MSOffice, especially Excel and Powerpoint

·       Basic knowledge of DFMEA, DFMA, DfR, risk management and other engineering tools.

·       Good ability to organize, analyze and interpret data coming from experimental lab results

·       Good ability to identify failure modes, root causes and propose solutions for problems identified by experimental lab results

·       Travel Percentage – 10%

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

 Benefits offered include the following:

·        Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.

·        Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.

·        The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).

·        40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).

·        12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
