PAY GRADE: ADMIN1 (MIN $340.12/DAILY) DAYS: 218
Primary Purpose: Assist the principal in overall campus administration, providing leadership and support in instructional, operational, and community engagement activities to ensure student success. Promote a positive campus culture aligned with district policies and Texas Principal Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Valid Texas teaching certificate with Mid-Management or Principal Certification
Eligible to serve as a certified appraiser for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong understanding of instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to interpret and apply data for decision-making
Knowledge of early childhood and elementary education systems
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Minimum of three years of teaching experience
Minimum of two years in a campus/district leadership role preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Leadership (Texas Principal Standard 1)
Support the development and implementation of innovative instructional programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
Assist teachers in using data to guide instruction and ensure student mastery of foundational skills.
Promote high expectations for teaching and learning through professional development and coaching.
Foster collaboration and teamwork among teachers to enhance instructional quality and student outcomes.
Human Capital (Texas Principal Standard 2)
Conduct teacher observations, provide constructive feedback, and assist in evaluations as a T-TESS appraiser.
Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding of staff to meet campus needs.
Promote professional growth and leadership opportunities for teachers and staff.
Maintain a culture of support and accountability among all campus staff.
Executive Leadership (Texas Principal Standard 3)
Oversee campus operations in the principal’s absence, ensuring smooth daily functioning.
Assist with scheduling, resource allocation, and operational planning to meet campus goals.
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
School Culture (Texas Principal Standard 4)
Promote a campus culture that values equity, diversity, and inclusion for all students and families.
Collaborate with staff, parents, and community members to maintain a positive learning environment.
Develop and monitor behavior management systems that support students’ social-emotional development.
Celebrate student and staff achievements to foster pride and community engagement.
Strategic Operations (Texas Principal Standard 5)
Assist in developing and implementing the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) to achieve district and campus goals.
Monitor student attendance and collaborate with families to address chronic absenteeism.
Manage resources effectively, including budget requests, instructional materials, and campus facilities.
Coordinate operational services, such as transportation, food services, and custodial support, to meet campus needs.
School/Community Relations
Communicate the school’s vision and mission to parents and the community, fostering support for campus initiatives.
Engage in activities that strengthen school-community relationships and address identified needs.
Encourage active involvement of parents and community members in the educational process.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate the performance of campus staff as assigned by the principal, including instructional and support personnel.
