BE THE CEO OF YOUR JOB
As the Safety Intern, you are responsible for assisting the VP of Safety in the continued development and continuous improvement of a comprehensive safety program for the Company. The Safety Intern assists in the implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to help ensure compliance with legally mandated safety regulations; monitor safety risks; assists in assuring the implementation and effectiveness of safety risk controls; and assists in promoting the integration of safety as a guiding principle in all aspects of the Company. The Safety Intern will assist in the development and implementation of safety audits, assessments, data acquisition and data analysis, and training to achieve accident reduction/prevention and safety compliance.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work is narrow in scope.
- Conduct New Hire Safety Orientation
- Assist in the creation of custom safety content through the use of Vyond and KPA software solutions
- Assist with the data collection of SDS to build out up-to-date chemical inventories in KPA software
- Assist with safety inspections and hazard assessments; document findings and track corrective actions
- Participate in onsite compliance meetings, audits, and training as necessary
- Participate in monthly Safety Team meetings
- Monitor PPE compliance and assist with inventory/issuance

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience and/or Training
- Ability to conduct training
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong sense of ownership
- Strong problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills
Technology/Equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and ChatGPT
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Enrolled at a university or college majoring in Occupational Safety and Health
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT
- U.S. Work Authorization
