The Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Revenue Management (VPSMRM) is responsible for leading and executing the overall sales, marketing, and revenue strategy across assigned hotels. This role oversees account management, business generation, prospecting, and revenue optimization to ensure each property consistently meets or exceeds revenue and occupancy goals.


The VPSMRM reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations and provides leadership, training, and strategic direction to Directors of Sales, Sales Managers, and Revenue Managers. This position plays a key role in driving performance, developing rate and marketing strategies, and ensuring alignment with Mid-Continent Hospitality’s goals and brand standards.


Requirements

Essential Job Functions

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel up to 50%.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Mid-Continent Hospitality standards and scheduling needs.
  • Present a professional, positive, and polished image while delivering exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Serve as a role model and ambassador for Mid-Continent Hospitality, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and integrity.
  • Lead and motivate hotel sales teams to develop and execute effective sales, marketing, and revenue strategies that maximize profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and partners to drive group, corporate, and leisure business, including room sales and F&B revenue.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to expense controls and labor guidelines.
  • Coordinate group activities and events across departments to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Play an active role in the annual budgeting process, contributing to revenue forecasts and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with property leaders and revenue management teams to develop pricing, rate, and distribution strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and develop top sales and revenue management talent; conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze revenue and production reports to identify trends, opportunities, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of annual Marketing Plans.
  • Attend and actively contribute to revenue calls and sales meetings.
  • Develop and monitor individual performance goals for the Sales and Revenue teams.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel sales, marketing, and revenue management principles.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with hospitality systems or revenue management software preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hospitality sales, marketing, and/or revenue management.
  • Demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue goals.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience in forecasting and budgeting.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to travel long distances by vehicle or air as required.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, when property or business needs demand.
