JOB DESCRIPTION: The Registered Nurse (RN) is in a role providing both patient care and education to direct patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assesses the full scope of patient needs using the nursing process on a continuous basis.
- Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.
- Evaluate patient’s response to plan of care and work in collaboration with interprofessional team to make any needed adjustments.
- Responsibility and accountability for effectively managing nursing care of individual patients.
- Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment.
- Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
- Accountable for nursing practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development.
- Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the nursing needs of patient.
- Serves in a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical records.
- Assist with medication management.
- Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS OR ABILITIES:
Required Skills for this position are but not limited to:
- Microsoft Office.

- Telephone and in-person triage
- Assist or perform procedures within scope of license
- Provide patient education
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
- Working knowledge of how a medical office runs.
- At least one year of experience working in the medical field would be preferred but not required.
- BLS or CPR required.

- Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
- Operates a computer and keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in an inpatient facility environment at an OVP Health location that is open 24/7.

- Involves regular exposure to body fluids in a controlled environment.
