Description
This role is focused on the scheduling of incoming released orders utilizing plant capacity, to organize, adjust and control the master schedule relevant system (AX/AS400). Heavy interaction/communication with internal departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Purchasing and Operations as well as outside contacts to include the customer, general contractor and transportation logistic providers to ensure all deadlines are met. This involves a continuous fluctuation and coordination of delivery dates, times and changes to production schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule plant jobs to ensure delivery dates are achieved through coordinating information with all key internal and external customers.
- Monitor orders through the process to ensure that commitment dates will be met.
- Manage Customer expectations and conflict resolution with customers where scheduling and delivery is concerned
- Manage level loading and bottleneck scheduling.
- Ensure customers are kept abreast of schedule and any possible variations, which may include negotiating new dates and logistics coordination.
- Review logistics performance with providers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements.
- Resolve problems concerning outbound transportation and service provider issues pertaining to logistics.
- Direct outbound logistics operations, such as outbound transportation, scheduling service providers to the customer site.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
- May be responsible for the negotiation of transportation rates or services as well as the selection of and development of freight providers and rates. Ensure best possible quote/rate for every shipment
- Coordinate and organize training with providers to ensure unique requirements to our products are executed and maintained as required.
- Manage and coordinate shipments both internally with Customer Service and externally with customer and/or site/construction contacts providing tracking information as necessary.
- Work closely to resolve any current or future issues with outside sales, drafting, manufacturing, shipping and service to ensure a superior customer experience.
- Sets up and communicates monthly financial performance and metrics relating to freight and delivery.
- Ensure all data points are accurate and entered timely in the MRP System (AX).
- May be responsible for coding of all related invoices (transportation, installation and crane) and submit to Accounting on timely basis.
- Provide reports as needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience or equivalent
- Advanced level of customer service within manufacturing environment
- High level of technical problem-solving skills required
Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and MRP System
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills required both verbal and written
- Proven skills in time management and multi-tasking responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and an independent problem solver
- Ability to expand work hours to meet deadlines and workload fluctuations
Physical Effort:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk intermittently for 8 hours
- Ability to work on a PC as required
