PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr. MTS, Network Engineer in Austin, TX

Job Duties: Plan, build, manage, optimize, and provide technical leadership for designing PayPal's Global Backbone Network and Cloud Network Infrastructure Design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure network architectures across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms. Drive and lead the Network Architecture and implementation effort for PayPal's unified NextGen Connectivity Solutions for customers & external partners. Drive detailed definitions of feature requirements through discussions with product managers and customers. Partner with the Security Architecture and DevOps team and build a secure Cloud Network architecture at PayPal. Translate the business requirements into robust, scalable, secure network designs. Plan and Execute Various Complex Network Migrations and Cutovers for PayPal and its Business Units. Implement multi-region and multi-cloud networking strategies for high availability and disaster recovery. Assess the existing network infrastructure health, capacity, and security posture, then provide recommendations for industry trends combined with PayPal's organic traffic growth requirements. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for executing complex Network migrations without service impacts. Build Network Automation and Network Self Service capabilities. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PayPal OnPrem and Cloud Networks. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.  

Special Skill Requirements:

• Experience designing and implementing network infrastructures using Juniper, Cisco, and Arista networking devices (2 years);

• Experience designing and deploying networks using MPLS and MP-BGP using Layer 3 routing protocols: BGP and OSPF (2 years);

• Experience designing and managing cloud architectures, ensuring secure, scalable, and optimized network solutions across various cloud platforms and leading the network architecture, design, and deployment initiatives in public cloud environments: AWS, GCP, and Azure. (2 years);

• Experience in managing and re-designing Campus and Data Center Networks using Cisco 6509, Cisco Nexus, and Dell Force10 devices (2 years);

• Experience with network automation using Python and Jinja2 and conducting manual and automated tests for complex systems to ensure reliability and performance (2 years);

• Experience with various network technologies, including PIM-SM, PIM-BiDir, MLAG, VPC, VLAN, IPSec, NetFlow, Spanning Tree, and IP networking fundamentals: IPv4, IPv6, and TCP protocols (2 years);

• Experience with load balancer technologies such as F5 and Citrix NetScaler (2 years);

• Experience with network automation and SDN technologies: configuring and managing SDN Networks using Open vSwitch in *nix environments (2 years);

• Experience in configuring and managing TACACS and IPSec VPNs to secure network communication (2 years);

• Experience utilizing knowledge of QoS implementation strategies to effectively manage network traffic, prioritize critical applications, and ensure consistent performance across networks (2 years).
