Primary Purpose: The role of the Director of Human Resources is to oversee all Human Resources functions that align with the mission and values of St Edmond's Home for Children.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports supervisors and managers in disciplinary processes, ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all staff members and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee benefit compliance including enrollment/modification and/termination of coverage for all benefits.
  • Maintains and assures compliance with regulations such as: FLSA, FMLA, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and leave of absence policies.
  • Prepare statistical reports related to retention, turnover, and other related subjects.
  • Supervises all other Human Resources staff in the facility to assure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Participates in facility management meetings and communicates regularly with all levels of management about HR issues.
  • Attend workshops, in-services, seminars, and other continuing education to keep abreast of current changes in the Human Resources field. Assures ongoing education of HR staff.
  • Oversee the recruitment and on-boarding process handled by HR Manager/Recruiter.
  • Coordinates all HR recruitment/employment activities including writing and placing job advertising, screening applicants/applications, referring qualified applicants and overseeing that appropriate reference checks and all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Maintains employee status changes, terminations, etc. in electronic and/or paper format as required.
  • Assures compliance with all applicable payroll, EEO, Homeland Security, and other regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relationships.
  • Assists with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups and one-on-one meetings.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personnel information in accordance with the Privacy Act, as well as facility’s established personnel policies governing the release of information.
  • Coordinates performance management system including development and review of all job descriptions and performance evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in related discipline.
    • 4 years of Human Resources experience,
    • Prior management experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of HR regulatory issues, organizational concepts, legal resources and relevant regulatory factors (local, state, and federal).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Kronos and Human Resources Information Systems.
    • Occasional local travel.
