About the Role:

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, directly impacting customer satisfaction and company reputation. This position requires the individual to manage and execute delivery routes efficiently while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. The driver will be responsible for handling and transporting products carefully, ensuring that all items reach their destination in excellent condition. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate records of deliveries and vehicle logs using electronic systems. Ultimately, the Delivery Driver serves as the face of the company during interactions with customers, requiring professionalism and effective communication skills.

This position will be based out of our distribution facility located in Des Moines, Iowa and work Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  Additional delivery days may be scheduled as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) as required by the vehicle type.
  • Proven experience in delivery driving or a similar role involving route sales.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy weights safely and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in speaking and understanding English to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using electronic log systems and GPS navigation technology.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Previous experience in customer service or route sales.
  • Additional language skills to support diverse customer interactions.
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to assigned locations following designated routes.
  • Ensure accuracy in work assignments by verifying delivery orders and matching items to customer requests.
  • Load and unload heavy packages and materials, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Use electronic log systems to record driving hours, delivery status, and vehicle inspections.
  • Interpret road maps and GPS navigation tools to plan and adjust routes for timely deliveries.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch and customers to provide updates and resolve delivery issues.

The required skills are essential for daily operations, as the driver must ensure accuracy in work assignments to prevent delivery errors and customer dissatisfaction. Moving mechanical parts knowledge helps in safely handling vehicle components and addressing minor issues during routes. Proficiency in English is critical for clear communication with dispatchers and customers, ensuring smooth coordination. The ability to lift and carry heavy weights is frequently used when loading and unloading goods, requiring physical stamina and proper technique.
