The Alkermes Commercial Learning and Leadership Development (CL&LD) team is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Instructional Designer / Graphic Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning experiences and visually appealing graphic content. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create instructional materials that enhance learning and retention.
Responsibilities
Learning Strategy Consultant:
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and learning team to design and implement the learning strategies aligned to business goals (e.g. update to Initial Sales Training, supporting launch of new LxP, etc.)
Act as learning consultant to internal stakeholders, advising on best practices and innovative learning solutions
Advanced Instructional Design:
Analyze learning needs and performance gaps
Develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, job aids, and training manuals
Design and implement interactive and engaging learning experiences using various multimedia elements
Design end-to-end learning curricula, including needs analysis, learning paths, and assessment strategies
Apply adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
Visual & Graphic Design:
Create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and other visual content to support instructional materials
Ensure all visual content aligns with branding guidelines and enhances the learning experience
Develop layouts and designs for digital and print materials
Collaboration & Project Management:
Work closely with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project milestones
Communicate progress and updates to stakeholders regularly
Business Alignment & Metrics:
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of learning programs
Create dashboards or reports to communicate learning outcomes and business impact to leadership
Scope and deliver learning solutions aligned with business objectives and performance outcomes
Support continuous improvement by analyzing learner feedback and performance data to refine instructional strategies
Additional Responsibilities may include:
Support the development of internal and external presentations
Assist in marketing and omnichannel efforts by creating visual content that aligns with marketing strategies
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Minimum 6+ years professional experience
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Education, or a related field
Preferred Skills:
Proven experience in instructional design and visual/graphic design
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia)
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with e-learning authoring tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Knowledge of gamification and microlearning techniques
Strong attention to detail and creativity
Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Strong organization and administrative skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Able to handle changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work independently in a proactive manner to anticipate and solve problems
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $81k to $95k. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual performance pay bonus.
