Job Title: Cafeteria Supervisor

High school diploma. Post-secondary food service training or work experience is desirable.
Meets all mandated health requirements.
Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
Ability to comply with environmental, health, and safety laws/regulations, building codes, and ADA accessibility guidelines.
Successful completion of a board approved sanitation food safety course.
Ability to monitor and manage compliance with nutrition, health, and safety laws/regulations.
Ability to maintain records and to accurately compute and record mathematical data.
Reports to: Supervisor of Business Affairs Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervises food service operations (e.g., staffing, menu planning, purchasing, food production, record keeping, etc.). Markets the program to maximize profits. Monitors customer satisfaction.
Analyzes data to improve food service operations. Helps develop and implement the districts continuous improvement plans. Identifies and develops partnerships and school sponsored activities that enhance district services.
Prepares revenue/expense projections. Maintains accurate inventory records.
Plans, procures, and manages supplemental service contracts related to assigned programs.
Identifies maintenance needs and prepares work orders. Participates in food service staff selection and orientation processes. Ensures the equitable distribution of workloads.
Arranges for substitutes during staff absences as needed.
Publishes menus. Makes available a variety of food choices that appeal to consumer preferences.
Uses standardized recipes to maintain quality control. Monitors production sheets/work progress.
Oversees the cleaning/sanitization of equipment and the storage/disposal of leftover food.
Processes applications and records for free and reduced-cost lunch programs.
Prepares/makes bank deposits. Submits records to the treasurer's office.
Helps with special district events (e.g., banquets, etc.). Assists rental groups as directed.
Supervises collection, verification, and recording of program information as directed.
Manages the accurate and timely completion of reports, records, and inventories.
Approves the purchase of supplies and equipment. Ensures that program resources are equitably apportioned.
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents.
Consistently dependable. Flexible outlook. Accepts new responsibilities/assignments willingly.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Business Affairs.

Operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions
Occasional requirement to travel, both daily and overnight
Evening/weekend/summer work
Regular requirements to lift, climb, and reach
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district
Characteristic Routine Work:
To assist the Supervisor of Business Affairs by administering the food service operations of the district in manner that is deemed necessary as to provide the best possible lunch program with the financial resources available.
Starting Wage: $45,000/yr or higher based on experience
