Job Summary

Under general supervision, leads a team of maintenance mechanics in performing semi-skilled general maintenance and preventive maintenance work. This position ensures that campus facilities and equipment are operational, safe, and well-maintained by conducting repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance. The role provides leadership to maintenance staff, assists with planning and scheduling work, and performs more complex maintenance assignments as needed.

Authority and Accountability

Reports to: Keith J. Brown

Direct Reports: Maintenance Mechanics and/or maintenance support staff

Budgetary Responsibility: None directly

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years of related maintenance experience
  • Three years of which must be in the assigned trade area.
  • General knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques across multiple trades.
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and structural components.
  • Skill in using tools and equipment associated with the maintenance trade.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., work in confined spaces, at heights up to 35 feet, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance or repair teams.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Additional Job Information:

The position is a full-time, non-exempt state role with comprehensive benefits.
