ECHO is expanding our industrial and manufacturing engineering team! We’re seeking a seasoned manufacturing/industrial engineer to assess and improve both existing and proposed production processes. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, boosting productivity, and reducing costs, while also refining assembly line layouts for optimal performance.
The salary range for this position is $95,000-$105,000 based on experience and qualifications.
This is an onsite position at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate current and proposed manufacturing processes for efficiency, productivity, and cost effectiveness.
- Identify constraints within manufacturing operations and implement effective resolutions.
- Execute opportunities for improvement through design changes, automation, and optimized assembly layouts.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions within ECHO’s manufacturing processes.
- Develop operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and spare parts documentation for new automation equipment and train personnel accordingly.
- Apply Lean manufacturing tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Poka-Yoke, 5S, PFEP) to enhance productivity, improve material flow, and minimize quality issues.
- Review daily production reports related to line efficiency, scrap, and schedule performance; develop and implement action plans to resolve issues and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with Production Line Supervisors to address issues involving safety, space utilization, quality, and material handling.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in current and next-generation products.
- Troubleshoot production floor issues, including equipment performance, process bottlenecks, and root causes of quality or assembly problems.
- Solicit competitive equipment and component quotes, prepare comparative analyses, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Establish and maintain standards and documentation for assembly and process operations.
- Deliver annual cost savings equal to or greater than two times the employee’s annual salary.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and subordinates; mentor and support the development of less senior personnel.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of assignments with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Job Experience/Skills:
5 + years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical engineering within a fast-paced production environment.
Proven track record in new product launches is highly desirable.
Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Expertise in assembly processes, machine design, and automated assembly systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is advantageous.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
Comfortable working hands-on in mechanically intensive environments.
Education: BS degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering from a 4 year college or university
