POSITION TITLE: X- RAY TECHNICIAN SUPERVISOR
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technician Supervisor is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of the X-ray department, ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and high-quality patient care. This role involves overseeing staff, coordinating workflows, implementing quality assurance programs, and maintaining Florida licensure requirements. The Supervisor will also perform routine imaging procedures and manage departmental operations effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage the X-Ray staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex radiology issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor the team's productivity and provide regular feedback to ensure high performance.
- Ensure the team adheres to SCHC principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the X-ray department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality imaging services.
- Schedule routine maintenance of X-ray equipment and maintain the department's equipment records in accordance with Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services (HRS) Radiation Control guidelines.
- Ensure all work performed in the X-ray department meets compliance with Florida licensure requirements.
- Oversee the daily operations of the X-ray department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality imaging services.
- Schedule X-ray equipment maintenance and keep department records per HRS Radiation Control guidelines.
- Ensure all work performed in the X-ray department meets compliance with Florida licensure requirements.
- Develop, document, and implement a radiation protection program in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 10D-91.
- Develop and maintain all X-ray quality assurance policies and procedures, as well as technical policies and procedures.
- Maintain records documenting personnel radiation exposure and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform routine X-rays and EKGs as ordered by providers, ensuring proper positioning and technique.
- File X-ray reports in the patient's medical chart accurately and timely.
- Provide training and orientation for new staff members, ensuring they understand departmental procedures and protocols.
- Develop ongoing education programs and refresher courses for existing staff to keep them informed of advancements in radiology technology and techniques.
- Maintain and develop a teaching file to enhance staff education and quality of care.
- Ensure high standards of patient care are maintain, including effective communication with patients regarding procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to discuss patient imaging needs and results, ensuring clear communication and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of staff performance evaluations, training activities, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for the radiology department, including equipment procurement and maintenance.
- Participate in departmental and organizational meetings, contributing to strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the centers.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and related software.
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology or Florida BMO License is required.
- Current Radiologic Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is preferred.
- Valid X- Ray Florida state license with no restrictions.
- BLS is required within 3 months of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the facility, and maneuver between different areas of the clinic.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to adjust equipment and assist patients as needed.
- Must be able to travel to various center locations as required.
