Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Maintenance
Position Summary: Maintains KCHS buildings and outside grounds by performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, landscaping and other related maintenance activities as directed by the KCHS Director of Maintenance.
Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities
Building maintenance Assists in the efficient and effective management of the healthcare facility by performing minor and routine tasks such as but not limited to:
- Painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and minor construction
- Cleaning snow and debris from sidewalk
- Mowing grass, trimming shrubbery, and cultivating flowers
- Replacing light bulbs and HVAC filters as necessary
- Performing water temperature testing
- Sewage clean-out when necessary
- Notifies Director of Maintenance concerning the need for major repairs
- Setting up tables, chairs, or other furnishings in various departments when requested
- Moving medical equipment and/or furniture to patient rooms
- Performing preventative maintenance of the healthcare facility as assigned by the Director of Maintenance
- Other maintenance-related duties as assigned Safety and Security Assists in the efficient and effective management of routine security and safety of KCHS.
- Complies with all of the Medicare/Medicaid Conditions of Participation rules and regulations including NFPA Life Safety Codes and KCHS policies and procedures. May works with State and Federal inspectors to insure compliance of facility.
- Keeps building and grounds free from hazards and in compliance with OSHA and KCHS Safety Policies and Procedures

Educational Responsibilities
- Completes required careLearning modules
- Completes other required certifications or classes as necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license, as this position may be the back-up transportation method for Senior Life Solutions patients
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
- CPR certification desired
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients
- Must be capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing and speaking) in the English Language.
- Must be proficient in the operation of a personal computer with Microsoft Office and the Internet
- Must be capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations.
