Description
As a Senior Database Administrator, you’ll be the technical leader driving reliability, scalability, and security across our enterprise data ecosystem. You’ll design and tune high-availability systems, guide our database and cloud strategy, and mentor the next generation of DBAs — all while shaping how data powers our business.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions — think Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Always-On, and PostgreSQL replication.
- Lead performance tuning initiatives using AWR, ASH, SQL Trace, TKPROF, and advanced optimizer tools.
- Architect enterprise-wide backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and GoldenGate.
- Drive database modernization in AWS (RDS, Aurora, EC2) and OCI (Autonomous DB, Exadata Cloud).
- Implement advanced security controls (TDE, Unified Auditing, Database Vault) aligned with GDPR/HIPAA/SOX.
- Partner with engineers and architects to design scalable schemas and ensure data integrity.
- Leverage automation, scripting, and even AI/ML-based tools for predictive performance and incident prevention.
- Mentor junior DBAs, lead key initiatives, and influence the future of our database and cloud strategy.
What You'll Bring
- Deep expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server (T-SQL), and PostgreSQL tuning and administration.
- Hands-on experience with HA/DR, RMAN, GoldenGate, Data Guard, and cross-platform migrations.
- Strong shell scripting and automation skills for proactive monitoring and optimization.
- Proven success managing cloud-based databases (AWS, OCI) — from setup to security and cost optimization.
- Solid understanding of database security frameworks, encryption, and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) is a plus.
- A collaborative mindset — able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and mentor others.
