Objective/Summary
The Regional Training Director is responsible for building, and providing leadership for, the Northern Midwest Learning Center region of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The Director will create and implement best practices for Service Delivery Triage and Training & Event Services. Under the supervision of the HR Director, the Northern Midwest Regional Training Director plays a leading role in developing and executing leadership development, strategies, and high-quality training experiences for the Northern Midwest Learning Center region that develops diverse, talented, and engaged purpose-driven leaders.

Essential Functions
- Works collaboratively with Duluth Area Family YMCA Leadership and other YMCAs in the region to cultivate and maintain relationships with YMCA leaders within the Northern Midwest Learning Center region, Alliances, and with other Learning Centers nationally.
- Act as a consultant, both externally and internally, to find solutions as needed by service delivery requests.
- Participate in national Learning Center meetings.
- Work across the region to assess individual learning needs and organizational capacity building opportunities.
- Work with the Learning Champions to lead the recruitment and development of facilitators. Ensure facilitators are skilled, supported, challenged, engaged and appreciated.
- Plan, organize, and deliver in-person Regional Training Events for the Northern Midwest region according to Y-USA and Duluth Area Family YMCA training standards. Responsible for all aspects of events, including but not limited to, planning, trainer recruitment, registration, communication, marketing, finance, and support of association onsite coordination.
- Annual assess regional Ys for training needs, program quality, and to develop training schedule based on needs using proven best practices and other resources.
- Provide guidance, expertise, and support to the execution of local training including an understanding of Y-USA training curriculum.
- Support and host national cohort programs such as Principles and Practices, Regional EMLEs, etc.
- Continuously evaluate procedures to optimize results and maximize impact while maintaining accessible training for the region.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to regional Learning Champions to ensure effective collaboration with all Ys and support of Y programs.
- Ensure Ys have access to and are utilizing LinkedIn Learning.
- Respond to requests for training support within the Northern Midwest region in a timely manner.
- Provide consultation and support for programs and certifications (Health & Wellness, Aquatics, and Leadership).
- Follow procedures associated with assessment, planning, tracking and evaluation.
- Demonstrates through on-going knowledge of Y-USA training curriculum and provides input and insight into new Y-USA program development.
- Proactively identifies and communicates updates and beneficial opportunities to YMCA associations, State Alliances, and/or other stakeholders.
- Manages revenue and expenses related to the Learning Center budget to include meeting revenue and expense goals, processing revenue and expense transactions and reporting.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
- The position and work can be either remote or in person. The employee is expected to work during normal business hours, though may be required to work during the evening or weekends.
- The employee will be required to ensure they have adequate space for remote work, including a location that ensures privacy.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme humidity/dampness, heat and cold.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This position may require availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Education and Experience
- Four-year college degree preferred. Studies in Organizational Development, Adult Education or Training preferred and/or five to seven years work experience in related or YMCA organization.
- Experience in training delivery (in person and virtual), training event management, instructional design, e-learning, and learning management system administration preferred.
- Experience in facilitating online technology platforms for meetings and trainings (zoom, go to meeting, etc.) Strong organizational, planning, project management, problem resolution, communication, presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and member service skills (follow-through and follow-up).
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office; LMS and e-learning authoring software preferred.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and quality.

- Must obtain within 60 days of employment and then maintain current certifications in CPR.
- YMCA Team Leader; Y-USA Trainer Certification preferred.
