The Project Engineer II is hands-on position that solves complex challenges and brings high-performance ideas to life for engine valve springs and valve trains. This position works directly with motor sports teams, suppliers and internal experts to design, test and refine spring technology for high-performance engines and transmissions.
The Project Engineer will own the process from initial concept to final production in a fast-paced collaborative environment. In this role, you will handle product design, process refinement, machine and fixture development, testing development and set up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead prototype development and oversee the transition to full-scale production.
• Design and improve manufacturing processes, including machine and fixture development.
• Conduct root cause analysis and validation testing using advanced engineering tools and in-house testing and metallurgical labs.
• Manage projects from start to finish – including timelines, resources and cross-functional coordination.
• Manage feedback and make adjustments to project as needed.
• Support marketing and leadership in product strategy and innovation.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to develop custom solutions for motorsports and industrial applications.
• Become a subject matter expert in high-performance valve spring and valvetrain design, testing and manufacturing.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; mechanical or manufacturing, preferred.
- 4-8 years of engineering experience; preferably in engine, manufacturing or high-performance environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication and processing methods and techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in 3D/2D CAD, preferably SolidWorks
- Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate with both management and non-management associates.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and data collection techniques.
- Time management skills.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Familiarity with electronics, machine design and testing methodologies, preferred.
