Akerman is seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Coordinator for our New York office. This is a hands-on working position responsible for planning menus, designing and setting up catered events both within and outside our office, ordering kitchen supplies, and managing vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of professional catering and event setup experience
- Superior interpersonal and communication abilities
- Demonstrated capacity for effective prioritization of competing deadlines
- Proven capability to perform efficiently under time-sensitive conditions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with firm leadership
- Willingness to accept guidance and constructive input
- Willingness and capacity to work extended hours and remain on-call as operational needs dictate
- Experience in a law firm environment preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate a variety of catering events for office meetings, client functions, and special occasions
- Create and/or purchase decorations for events
- Obtain vendor quotes from outside caterers and manage relationships with service providers
- Coordinating/planning event menus that accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences
- Order and maintain kitchen supplies
- Submit vendor bills for payment in a timely manner
- Ensure all catered events are executed smoothly and professionally
- Respond promptly to last-minute event requests

Job Type: Salary
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
