Catering Coordinator chez Akerman LLP

Akerman is seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Coordinator for our New York office. This is a hands-on working position responsible for planning menus, designing and setting up catered events both within and outside our office, ordering kitchen supplies, and managing vendor relationships.

Requirements

1. Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of professional catering and event setup experience
2. Superior interpersonal and communication abilities
3. Demonstrated capacity for effective prioritization of competing deadlines
4. Proven capability to perform efficiently under time-sensitive conditions
5. Ability to collaborate effectively with firm leadership
6. Willingness to accept guidance and constructive input
7. Willingness and capacity to work extended hours and remain on-call as operational needs dictate
8. Experience in a law firm environment preferred

Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and coordinate a variety of catering events for office meetings, client functions, and special occasions
2. Create and/or purchase decorations for events
3. Obtain vendor quotes from outside caterers and manage relationships with service providers
4. Coordinating/planning event menus that accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences
5. Order and maintain kitchen supplies
6. Submit vendor bills for payment in a timely manner
7. Ensure all catered events are executed smoothly and professionally
8. Respond promptly to last-minute event requests

Job Type: Salary

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.) 

Bonus: Discretionary holiday bonus
