Job summary
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and managing existing client relationships. This role will require developing and executing a strategic sales plan to sell specialized compressed air, mold, and bacteria testing services to industrial and commercial clients. The ideal candidate has a strong technical aptitude, sales experience, and the drive to meet and exceed revenue goals.
Responsibilities
- Business development: Identify and prospect potential clients in target industries through research, cold calling, networking, and attending trade shows.
- Sales process management: Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact and lead nurturing to delivering sales presentations, creating proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
- Customer relationship management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their needs and acting as a technical resource and trusted advisor.
- Technical expertise: Become a subject matter expert in compressed air and microbial testing services, able to explain complex technical and regulatory information in a clear and compelling way.
- Industry knowledge: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities for products and services.
- Team collaboration: Work with internal teams, such as the laboratory, customer service/inside sales team and marketing departments, to ensure client needs are met and to provide valuable market feedback.
- Reporting: Track sales activities, forecasts, and opportunities using a CRM system, and report on sales performance to management.
- Performance goals: Meet and exceed established sales quotas and revenue targets.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a life science, environmental science, business, or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2–5 years of proven outside sales experience, preferably in a technical or scientific field.
- Experience selling services within industrial or commercial markets is a plus.
- Familiarity with compressed air systems, air quality testing (e.g., ISO 8573), environmental monitoring, or microbiology is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to close sales and achieve quotas.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office applications.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
