We’re looking for a detail-driven and collaborative Business Office Manager to lead key financial and patient access functions at Harlan County Health System. In this role, you will support accurate billing and reimbursement processes, oversee revenue cycle operations, and guide teams that directly impact patient experience and organizational financial health.
What You’ll Do
- Support the CFO with preparation and review of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and department procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze department performance, including budget-to-actual reporting.
- Oversee manual financial processes and ensure proper record-keeping.
- Manage corporate checking accounts and invoice processing.
- Assist with accounts payable duties.
- Maintain and review ledgers including cash receipts, disbursements, payroll summaries, and journal entries.
- Produce monthly financial and departmental reporting, including reconciliations.
- Oversee credentialing for providers.
- Lead and support HIM (Medical Records), Prior Authorization, Central Scheduling, Registration, and related teams.
- Participate in hiring, coaching, performance evaluations, and staff development.

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree preferred; or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting, budgeting, and payroll principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with budget and payroll systems.
- APA certification preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Counselor, HIM, Prior Authorization, Central Scheduling, and Registration.
- Conducts performance reviews, supports hiring efforts, and provides coaching and guidance to staff.
