Salary: Level 8 Step 1 ($3,770.25 bi-weekly)

Reporting to the Adult Learning and Employment Manager, and with ongoing direction from the Steering Committee (comprised of the Director, the Adult Learning and Employment team, a TH youth, a TH Elder and Yukon University (Dawson) staff), the incumbent develops, coordinates, facilitates and supports the Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän Bridging Program. The incumbent develops curriculum and oversees schedules, supports and logistics for the program in partnership with Yukon University’s Tr’odëk Hätr’unohtän (Dawson City) Campus. The incumbent forms and strengthens relationships between students, community members, Yukon University and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Elders, Youth and staff through integrated programming (for example, the Elders on Campus program).
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in education, social work or a related field, with previous experience as program coordinator/facilitator, or education support worker an asset; an equivalent combination of education, experience, skills and abilities may be considered.
- Previous experience working in a related field for a First Nation government, post-secondary institution or training provider is an asset.
- Knowledge of social, education and training issues affecting First Nations people, particularly TH Citizens.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing learner progress plans.
- Knowledge of available employment and educational opportunities within the community or in Whitehorse.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and videoconferencing technologies.
- Knowledge of TH culture, traditions, history, demographics and family structures.
- General working knowledge (or willingness to learn) of the TH Final Agreement, Self-Government Agreement and TH Constitution.
