UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a full time Clinical Support Assistant to support the offices of Dr. Ditonto and Dr. Matson. This position will support providers and serve our patients at the following locations;
Orchard Park Office - 5959 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park NY 14127
Williamsville Office - 111 N. Maplemere Road, Williamsville NY 14221
Clinical Support Assistant Schedule:
- Monday: 8am - 4pm
- Tuesday: 8am - 4pm
- Wednesday: 8M - 4pm
- Thursday: 8am - 4pm
- Friday: 8am - 4pm
*administrative time will be remote from home
*locations & schedule are tentative and subject to change
The Clinical Support Assistant supports providers and patients by performing a variety of administrative and clinical duties to ensure continuity of patient service and workflow within the office.
Job duties to include, but not limited to:
- Answering phones; listen & return voicemails.
- Sending/responding to triages & e-mails (Medent, Outlook, additional EHR tools as needed)
- Scheduling appointments.
- Patient day chart prep; enter x-ray orders; verify patient demographic/insurance information.
- Room patients(complete intake notes & open imaging)/check out patients.
- Ensure patient has signed any required documents including HIPAA and financial policies.
- Complete brief pre-op checklist when scheduling patients for procedures.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for surgeries, imaging, injections etc. Entering referrals.
- Complete and distribute disability paperwork.
- Review & distribute daily progress notes to primary doctors and referring doctors.
- Manage Medent tanks: documents, general orders, diagnostic imaging, lab orders, etc.
- Assist the provider(s) with other responsibilities as requested.
- Assume other responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications;
- Education Requirements** High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience Requirements** One to two years of experience in healthcare provider’s office or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills and Competencies Requirements** Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Must be able to multi-task and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Experience:
- Medent: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical office: 1 year (Preferred)
