Position Title: Construction Inspector
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL
Employment Status: Full-Time, On-site
Period of Performance: 12 months (with potential extension)
Approx. Start: December 2025
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary: Aldevra is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to provide construction management support services for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – North Regional Area Office at Redstone Arsenal, AL. This position provides field inspection, documentation review, and quality assurance for ongoing construction projects. The Construction Inspector serves as the on-site representative ensuring compliance with USACE quality standards, contract specifications, and safety regulations. This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct daily field inspections and compliance monitoring for ongoing construction activities.
- Review and analyze project submittals, plans, and specifications for accuracy and constructability.
- Provide written recommendations to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on contractor performance, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Support the COR by reviewing project deficiencies, claims, and requests for equitable adjustment.
- Attend project meetings and provide clear, concise feedback and recommendations on site issues.
- Review contractors’ records of work accomplished and verify completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit written reports summarizing daily activities, progress, and observations.
- Maintain adherence to USACE and federal safety standards, including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.
- Submit monthly progress reports summarizing accomplishments, challenges, and planned activities.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Security Requirements:
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required, and a favorable completion of FBI fingerprint History Check must be completed. A Common Access Card (CAC) is required for Base access and the Local Access Network (LAN).
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Workplace Safety and Environment:
- This position is on-site at Redstone Arsenal, AL, within an active construction setting. Daily field inspections are required. The Construction Inspector must follow USACE EM 385-1-1 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in a technical, physical, or biological science field, or equivalent military training, is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a construction inspector or field technician.
- Working knowledge and/or training in: Personal safety practices and construction site procedures; Industry terminology and documentation standards; Reading and interpreting architectural and installation drawings, including hoistway and machine room layouts; Electrical, electronic, and circuit construction principles; Mechanical principles as applied to structures, machines, and mechanisms
- Experience with field or environmental surveys, data collection, hazardous material and solid waste management, damage surveys, or similar technical projects, is preferred.
- Experience with USACE construction management, QA/QC, or resident office operations preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard inspection documentation tools.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and work independently with limited supervision.
