JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinate faculty clinic schedules, med/peds/OB call schedule, and Inpatient schedule, provides placement of students on faculty schedules, opens clinic schedules in the practice management system and provides administrative support to faculty, working closely with the department’s Administrative Director, residency program staff, and other departmental administrative staff.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain the daily, weekly and yearly basic pattern schedules for each faculty member for all Internal Medicine, including call schedules, attending, inpatient coverage and other department responsibilities.
In coordination with residency program and department needs, approve and make appropriate changes to schedule; manage and handle last minute changes and complex scheduling issues to answer resident and faculty needs.
Coordinate faculty schedules with the residency program to produce timely and accurate patient care schedules.
Manages the weekly schedule to have an appropriate number of providers each half day to ensure access to patient care.
Manages resident/preceptor ratio to ensure proper supervision of the residents.
Manages all specialty clinic schedules with appropriate provider coverage to provide education/supervision to the Internal Medicine residents
Produce monthly call schedule and responsible for finding coverage when call patterns break down.
Works with multiple departments in MAHEC to coordinate placement of learners.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree or three (3) years of relevant experience, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience, which includes administrative and scheduling experience within a large medical or other health-related field.

SCHEDULE:
Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.
POSITION COMPENSATION:
$22.31/hour, full time + full benefits available
